IPOH, August 26 — Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad announced that nearly RM39 million is returned to Perak residents each year through subsidies and rebates by the Perak Water Board (LAP).

The initiative provides 25 cubic meters of free water to low-income households, 10 cubic meters to houses of worship and welfare institutions, and a RM4 rebate on the first 10 cubic meters for all domestic users. Saarani highlighted that despite tariff revisions in 2024, LAP has maintained rates to ease financial burdens on residents.

Speaking at the launch of Menara Air Perak in Kepayang, graced by Sultan Nazrin Shah and Raja Permaisuri Tuanku Zara Salim, Saarani praised LAP’s role in supporting Perak’s long-term development under the Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan.

He noted that LAP is upgrading several water treatment plants to meet growing demand, while the state advances major projects including the Lumut Maritime Industrial City, Perak Halal Industrial Park, and Automotive High Technology Valley.
