PETALING JAYA, August 27 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today launched CelcomDigi Berhad’s flagship programme, CD:NXT, aimed at accelerating the development of Malaysia’s next-generation digital leaders.
The long-term initiative aspires to equip 5,000 Malaysian youths with critical skills in AI, data, technology, and analytics, preparing them to lead the nation’s digital transformation in an era shaped by 5G and artificial intelligence.
At the launch, CelcomDigi introduced the first cohort of 20 top young talents, selected from 3,600 applicants through rigorous assessments, into its CD:NXT Young Talent Programme. CelcomDigi said CD:NXT will drive Malaysia’s digital economy through three pillars: the Young Talent Programme (a two-year track for high-potential graduates).
CelcomDigi UniConnects (a university-industry collaboration to align academic learning with industry needs), and the Student Ambassador Programme (empowering students in digital inclusion and sustainability). Anwar also toured the CelcomDigi AI Experience Centre (AiX), showcasing 61 industry-ready AI use cases across sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, and smart cities.
The company said CD:NXT reflects its long-term commitment to building “AI-native” professionals who will drive Malaysia’s inclusive, sustainable, and globally competitive digital future.
