HO CHI MINH CITY, August 28 — The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC), in partnership with Tourism Malaysia, launched a major promotional initiative in Vietnam to build momentum for the upcoming Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign.
Held from July 29 to August 2 in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, the event series includes the Malaysia Tourism, Arts, Culture & Food Fest 2025, a Destination Seminar, Business Networking Session, and Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) showcase.
Leading the delegation, YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing emphasized Vietnam’s strategic role in Malaysia’s tourism growth, aiming to foster sustainable and mutually beneficial collaborations. The campaign, themed “Surreal Experiences,” seeks to attract at least 43 million international visitors in 2026, focusing on immersive cultural offerings, luxury travel, and innovation.
This initiative, coupled with MADANI Week hosted by the Malaysian Embassy in Hanoi, reflects Malaysia’s broader commitment to regional engagement and national development through cultural diplomacy.
Visitors in Vietnam were treated to traditional performances, crafts, and cuisine, highlighting Malaysia’s rich heritage. With over 160 direct weekly flights between both nations and strong travel figures in the first half of 2025, the tourism bond continues to flourish.
As Malaysia enhances outreach via Vietnamese media and influencers, it reaffirms its position as a top ASEAN destination for Vietnamese travellers and strengthens people-to-people ties that support long-term tourism and cultural exchange.
