KUALA LUMPUR, August 29 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today assured Parliament that no state is being sidelined in the government’s development agenda, pointing to billions of ringgit in allocations for projects nationwide.

He said under the Madani government, funding has steadily increased for all states, including those led by the opposition, with priorities determined based on state needs and national strategy. Responding to concerns about selective development, Anwar cited consistent rises in Federal Development Expenditure from 2022 to 2025.

including Sabah (RM5.2b–RM6.7b), Sarawak (RM4.7b–RM5.9b), Kelantan (RM2.4b–RM3.2b), and Kedah (RM1.6b–RM2.2b). He emphasised that state governments are consulted to align local priorities with national planning, promising that these priorities will be reflected in Budget 2026.

Highlighting major infrastructure projects, Anwar pointed to the Pan Borneo Highway in Sabah, the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) across Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang, Kedah’s Sidam Industrial and Logistics Hub, and flood mitigation works worth RM25.08 billion.

He said these initiatives, along with water supply and health projects, underscore the government’s commitment to balanced growth. “This is not about favouring one state over another, but about driving development across the federation,” he stressed.
