KUALA LUMPUR, September 12 — Tourism Malaysia welcomed Jiangxi Air’s historic inaugural flight from Nanchang to Kuala Lumpur, marking the airline’s first-ever international scheduled service. Flight RY6607 landed at KLIA, strengthening Malaysia’s role as a key gateway to Southeast Asia while opening new opportunities for tourism, trade, and investment between Malaysia and China’s Jiangxi Province.

The launch ceremony was attended by senior officials from Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Ministry of Transport, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, and Jiangxi Air. Operating twice weekly with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the direct service is expected to boost arrivals from Jiangxi, adding to the 2.17 million Chinese visitors Malaysia recorded in the first half of 2025 — a 35.6% increase from the previous year.

Tourism Malaysia said the new link highlights Malaysia’s growing appeal among Chinese travellers and reinforces efforts to position the nation as a world-class destination ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.
