KEMAMAN, September 14 — Resorts World Kijal (RWK), a subsidiary of Genting Malaysia Bhd, in partnership with the Department of Fisheries Terengganu, has strengthened its turtle conservation initiative at Kijal Beach under the Genting Bersama Malaysia CSR programme.

Themed “Bersama Melindungi Warisan Lautan Kita”, the two-day event featured the symbolic release of 100 baby turtles, guided patrols, educational workshops by WWF Malaysia, a 7.6 km beach clean-up that collected 450kg of waste, and the planting of 30 coconut seedlings.

Supported by Genting’s Green Generation volunteers, Nikon, and the Photographic Society of Petaling Jaya, the initiative aims to raise awareness, engage youth, and safeguard endangered turtle species, reaffirming Kijal Beach as a vital nesting ground and showcasing conservation-driven tourism along Malaysia’s east coast.
