KUALA LUMPUR, September 15 — The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) is accelerating efforts to reindustrialise Malaysia through policies such as the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030 and the National Semiconductor Strategy (NSS), said Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz.

He stressed that these initiatives aim to push industries towards adopting high technology, digitalisation, and global standards while ensuring that a “Made in Malaysia” label represents quality and innovation, ultimately generating high-value jobs for the future.

Speaking at the Youth Empowerment Fair, Tengku Zafrul said MITI is enabling youth careers in high-tech sectors through industrial development, investment promotion and international trade, with clear pathways such as training 60,000 engineers under the NSS and establishing digital hubs via the Malaysia Automotive Robotics and Internet of Things Institute (MARii).

Programmes like the Engineering Talent for Semiconductor Industry, led by CREST and HRD Corp, will further strengthen the talent pipeline, while MITI’s trade policies are opening international opportunities for young Malaysians. He urged youths to seize these opportunities and apply their energy and ambition to shaping a more progressive future for the nation.
