JOHOR BAHRU, September 27 – Scanfil, Europe’s largest listed electronics manufacturing company, has invested RM15.8 million to expand and modernise its SRX Global (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. facility in Johor Bahru, boosting production capacity by nearly 50% and strengthening the city’s role as a strategic electronics hub in Asia.

The upgraded facility, now equipped with expanded production space, integrated one-stop manufacturing capabilities, and advanced automation under the Scanfil Dream Factory programme, is set to enhance Malaysia’s position in the global electronics and semiconductor supply chain while creating new skilled job opportunities.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Ms. Maiju Lepomaki, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Finland in Malaysia, alongside Scanfil Group CEO Christophe Sut, MIDA representatives, and Finnish-Malaysian business leaders. MIDA CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim welcomed the investment as a significant boost to Malaysia’s high-value manufacturing sector.

Aligning with the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 and the National Semiconductor Strategy. Christophe Sut highlighted Malaysia’s predictable and business-friendly environment, affirming Scanfil’s long-term commitment to growing its Johor Bahru operations to support industries such as industrial, medical technology, and life sciences.
