KUALA LUMPUR, September 29 — The Finance Ministry confirmed that the phased implementation of the Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) subsidy initiative has run smoothly, with no major technical disruptions reported during its initial rollout for police and military personnel.

Treasury secretary-general Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican said the three-phase approach was designed to prevent system overload and ensure prompt solutions if issues arose, citing lessons learned from previous subsidy programmes.

Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying acknowledged isolated complaints of eligible motorists being wrongly flagged as ineligible but assured that her ministry, together with the Road Transport Department, is working to resolve them before the full nationwide launch on September 30.

She stressed that all Malaysians with MyKad and valid driving licences remain entitled to the subsidy of RM1.99 per litre for up to 300 litres monthly, adding that more than 8.1 million people have already checked their eligibility through the official Budi95 portal.
