KUALA LUMPUR, September 30 — The Malaysian Football League (MFL) today confirmed receiving official notification from the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) regarding FIFA’s decision to suspend seven heritage players for 12 months.
Among those affected are Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) players Joao Figueiredo, Jon Irazabal, and Hector Hevel, who are barred from participating in any Malaysian League competitions during the suspension period.
MFL stated that further action on the matter will only be taken once FIFA announces the outcome of FAM’s appeal against the ruling.
