GEORGE TOWN, October 3 — Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow today underscored the state’s commitment to accelerating its green transition at the second press conference of the Penang Green Summit 2025, themed “Moving Towards Sustainable Energy.”
Highlighting milestones such as the newly launched Penang Green Industry Programme with a Transition Financing Scheme for SMEs and the full enforcement of the No Plastic Bag Every Day Campaign, Chow said the initiatives mark Penang’s shift from policy to action.
The summit, scheduled for October 31 to November 1 at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre, will bring together industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to explore strategies, technologies, and collaborations that strengthen Penang’s position as a regional model for sustainable energy and low-carbon growth.
