LANGKAWI, October 7 — The Kedah International Zakat Conference (KEIZAC 2025) has positioned Kedah as a global hub for zakat innovation, with discussions ranging from AI-driven social finance and food security through zakat and wakaf to institutional transformation and digital literacy.
A highlight came from Open University Malaysia (OUM), whose team won Best Paper Award (3rd Runner-Up) for its proposed Zakat Online Courseware (ZOC), showcasing Malaysia’s ability to produce impactful, practical research.
Beyond academic excellence, KEIZAC underscored the potential of zakat as a development engine, the role of women in leadership, and the need to elevate Bahasa Melayu on the international stage—cementing Kedah’s reputation not only as the nation’s rice bowl.
But also as a cradle of Islamic knowledge and innovation.
