KUALA LUMPUR, October 9 — Nikon has officially entered the cinema space with the launch of the Nikon ZR, the smallest model in its Z CINEMA series, introduced locally by Futuromic Photo AV Sdn. Bhd., distributor of Nikon imaging products in Malaysia.

Developed in collaboration with RED Digital Cinema, the Nikon ZR combines internal 6K RAW recording, RED-curated colour science, and pro-level 32-bit float audio into a compact 540g magnesium alloy body designed for both studio and on-location filmmaking.

The ZR supports seven video formats, nine real-time RED Imaging Recipes, dual base ISO, and advanced monitoring tools including LUT previews, waveform, and histogram displays, while offering Frame.io cloud uploads and livestream-ready connectivity.

With its innovative features, including the world’s first native 32-bit float recording via a 3.5mm jack and seamless integration with the ME-D10 shotgun microphone, Nikon positions the ZR as a game-changing, all-in-one solution for filmmakers seeking cinematic quality in a lightweight form factor.
