BUTTERWORTH, October 10 — Police have confirmed that the body discovered inside a suitcase behind the Ampang Jajar Flats at Jalan Permatang Pauh, Mak Mandin, has been identified as DanielHan Lee, whose real name is Lee Boon Han, a 31-year-old local man.
The grim discovery was made around 1.45 p.m. on October 9, 2025, after a member of the public alerted the Seberang Perai Utara District Police Headquarters (IPD SPU) through an emergency call.According to Penang Police Chief Datuk Ts. Azizee Ismail, the victim’s body was found with visible neck injuries, his hands tied, and his head wrapped in plastic.
A post-mortem conducted at Penang Hospital determined the cause of death as suffocation. DanielHan had been reported missing by his family on October 8, 2025, after failing to return home. Police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder and are intensifying efforts to track down the suspect or suspects involved.
