KUALA LUMPUR, October 10 — Volvo Car Malaysia has introduced the 2026 model year EC40 in a new single-motor variant, priced at RM248,888, which is RM40,000 less than the twin-motor version.
Equipped with a 70kWh battery, the electric crossover SUV delivers up to 488km of range (WLTP) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, powered by Volvo’s second-generation permanent magnet rear motor producing 175kW (238hp).
The EC40 also debuts a Sand Dune exterior colour inspired by Sweden’s west coast, alongside a refreshed interior featuring leather-free materials, Charcoal Connect suede, Microtech finishes, and Cutting Edge décor accents.
Inside, drivers will find Volvo’s next-generation user interface, with streamlined controls and enhanced displays, while safety remains central with the brand’s full Safe Space Technology suite.
