KUALA LUMPUR, October 13 — Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan departed for Nay Pyi Taw today for a one-day working visit to engage Myanmar’s top leaders following renewed ceasefire violations that have undermined regional peace efforts.

Accompanied by Asean Chair’s Special Envoy Tan Sri Othman Hashim, Mohamad is set to meet Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, and Foreign Minister U Than Swe to urge full implementation of the Asean Five-Point Consensus, including the cessation of violence, unrestricted humanitarian aid, and inclusive national dialogue.

The visit underscores Malaysia’s commitment, as Asean Chair in 2025, to promoting peace, stability, and a Myanmar-led resolution to the ongoing crisis.
