BAYAN LEPAS, October 13 — Global logistics leader UPS has opened a new 20,000 sq ft package centre in Penang Science Park North and expanded its existing hub at Penang Airport to enhance delivery services and boost processing capacity for local businesses.
The expansion extends export pickup times by up to two hours and enables earlier deliveries across key industrial areas, benefiting companies in time-critical sectors such as semiconductors and electronics.
UPS Malaysia Managing Director Ingrid Sidiadinoto said the move strengthens supply chain resilience and supports Penang’s growing role in global trade while MIDA CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid lauded the investment as a key step toward advancing smart warehousing and automation in Malaysia’s logistics ecosystem.
