SABAH, October 16 – The Election Commission of Malaysia (SPR) has officially announced that the 17th Sabah State Election (PRU DUN Sabah Ke-17) will take place on November 29, 2025 (Saturday), following the dissolution of the 16th State Assembly on October 6.
Nomination Day is set for November 15, with early voting on November 25, and a 14-day campaign periodrunning until November 28. The election will see all 73 state seats contested, with 1.78 million registered votersexpected to cast their ballots.
A total of 33,002 election workers, 940 polling centres, and RM116.8 million have been allocated to ensure a smooth process. SPR also confirmed that applications for postal voting are now open via its online portal, while observer applications from government agencies and NGOs are accepted until October 27.
