KUALA LUMPUR, October 16 – The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and the Machinery & Engineering Industries Federation (MEIF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive Malaysia’s industrial transformation under the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030.

The collaboration will establish a structured platform to advance ecosystem development, technology adoption, sustainability, investment facilitation, and stronger linkages between government, industry, and research institutions.

MIDA CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid highlighted the partnership as a key step in supporting SMEs to adopt advanced technologies and compete in global value chains, while MEIF President Mac Ngan Boon stressed the industry’s role in deepening local supply chains and preparing Malaysian SMEs for international competitiveness.
