KOTA KINABALU, October 17 – The Election Commission (EC) has confirmed that Sabahans living in Peninsular Malaysia will not be eligible for postal voting in the upcoming state election, meaning they must return home to cast their ballots on November 29.
EC chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said no final decision had been made to extend postal voting and assured that the election date would not clash with the SPM examinations, which begin on November 22. The polls will take place on a Saturday, with nomination day set for November 15 and early voting on November 25.
