KUALA LUMPUR, October 23 – Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil confirmed that preparations for media coverage of the upcoming 47th ASEAN Summit are progressing smoothly, with 2,854 media personnel from 34 countries registered to cover the event.
Speaking during his visit to the International Media Centre at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Fahmi said advanced digital infrastructure — including 33 5G in-a-Box setups and 10GB bandwidth Wi-Fi 7 connectivity — has been installed to support seamless press operations.
He urged the public to cooperate with road closures implemented for the summit, which runs from October 26 to 28, as Malaysia hosts the key regional gathering before handing the ASEAN chairmanship to the Philippines.
