KUALA LUMPUR, October 24 — The Finance Ministry (MoF) announced that Malaysia has saved approximately RM5 billion annually through the Budi Madani Diesel Programme since its implementation in June 2024, allowing the government to channel funds towards improving the people’s social safety net and key development projects.

These savings have supported increased allocations for cash aid programmes such as Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara), as well as the Sara Appreciation initiative under Budget 2025.

As of September 2025, over 140,000 individuals and 180,000 agro-commodity recipients have benefited from the programme, while more than 121,000 transport companies have been approved under Budi MySubsidi Diesel.

The ministry added that 12.4 million Malaysians have also benefitted from the Budi Madani RON95 initiative, which maintains fuel prices at RM1.99 per litre, contributing to affordable living costs and economic stability.
