GEORGE TOWN, October 25 — Continuous monitoring and cleanup efforts are underway at Taman Terubong Jaya, Block 39, following a recent landslide at Tingkat Paya Terubong. The Fire and Rescue Department remains on standby since yesterday, while MBPP’s geotechnical engineers have confirmed fresh soil movement through drone surveillance.

JKR has deployed excavators to clear the affected hillside and restore proper water flow. MBPP has also opened the Paya Terubong Public Market parking area for residents to use free of charge for overnight parking.

Water levels at Desa Permata, Lebuh Rambai, and Sungai Dondang remain stable, with new drainage opposite Farlim Market functioning effectively. Authorities advise residents to avoid parking near slopes during the ongoing rainy season.
