BATU KAWAN, October 25 — Husband-and-wife duo Pearly Lim Pei Li and Teh Boon Soon, known as the Soup-ernatural Flavour Chasers, turned their passion for soups into victory at the IKEA Batu Kawan Ultimate Cook-Off, taking home a RM10,000 IKEA kitchen makeover.
The pair impressed celebrity judges with their inventive Pan-Seared Salmon served with an Asam Pedas-inspired sauce featuring IKEA’s lingonberry jam, blending Swedish and Malaysian flavours in a bold culinary twist.
The event, part of IKEA Malaysia’s month-long House Party celebration held from 13 September to 5 October across IKEA Cheras, Batu Kawan, and Tebrau, saw home cooks nationwide competing in creative challenges inspired by IKEA’s Swedish classics.
Malcolm Pruys, Country Retail Director of IKEA Malaysia, said the cook-off embodied IKEA’s mission to make life at home better through affordable design and creativity, proving that the heart of every home truly begins in the kitchen.
