PUTRAJAYA, October 25 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend the 47th Asean Summit in Kuala Lumpur from October 26 to 28, with Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak representing him instead.

Anwar also revealed that Myanmar’s acting President Senior General Min Aung Hlaing will skip the summit, in line with Asean’s five-point consensus on Myanmar’s political crisis.

The high-profile event will see leaders including U.S. President Donald Trump and other Asean heads of state gather for discussions on regional security, trade, and humanitarian cooperation.

Anwar further praised Japan’s commitment to Gaza’s reconstruction under the CEAPAD framework and highlighted that cross-border online scams will be a key agenda item at the upcoming summit.
