KUALA LUMPUR, October 27 — US President Donald Trump announced his departure from Malaysia after what he described as a “historic and productive” visit, highlighting the signing of major trade and rare earth agreements, as well as a landmark peace treaty between Thailand and Cambodia.

“Millions of lives saved. Such an honor to have gotten this done,” Trump posted on his official account. The Thai-Cambodia Peace Treaty, signed during the ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, formally ended months of cross-border tensions and was hailed as a breakthrough for regional diplomacy.

Trump praised Malaysia as a “great and very vibrant country” and said the accords marked a major step toward peace and economic stability in Southeast Asia. He is now en route to Japan for the next leg of his Asia tour.
