KUALA LUMPUR, October 29 — Malaysia will take the spotlight in advancing regional SME development when the ASEAN SME Economic Conference 2025 convenes on October 9 at the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI).

Organised by CIMB Bank Berhad and WPP Media, and endorsed by MITI as an official ASEAN Economic Pillar side event, the conference will unite policymakers, investors, and entrepreneurs under the theme “Unlocking Economic Opportunities for SMEs in ASEAN.” 

With Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship as its backdrop, the event aims to boost policy dialogue, investor confidence, and cross-border collaboration for SMEs in the 680-million-strong ASEAN market. Key highlights include addresses by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Aziz and YB Datuk Ewon Benedick.

Sessions on regional integration, funding, and marketing in the AI era, as well as the unveiling of CIMB’s new SME digital platform — cementing Malaysia’s role as a regional gateway for trade, innovation, and growth.
