SINGAPORE, October 30 — A new travel trend is sweeping across Asia Pacific as grandparents and grandchildren embark on “skip-generation” holidays — trips without the parents — highlighting how families are redefining togetherness.
According to Hilton’s 2026 Trends Report, six in 10 travellers (60%) in the region have taken or plan to take such holidays, with the highest participation seen in China and India. Nearly nine in 10 (89%) believe these trips improve grandparents’ wellbeing.
While 58% cite creating lasting memories as their top motivation. Family suites, interconnecting rooms, and senior-friendly facilities are now key priorities for multi-generational travellers, as Hilton continues to design experiences that bring families closer across its global portfolio.
