KUALA LUMPUR, October 30 – In a significant step towards strengthening bilateral economic ties, SME Corp. Malaysia and the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) of Pakistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster SME growth and collaboration between both nations.

The exchange, held in Putrajaya on 6 October 2025, was witnessed by Malaysian Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim and Pakistan’s Prime Minister H.E. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The MoU establishes a framework to enhance knowledge exchange, digitalisation, sustainability, and market access for SMEs.

Opening new opportunities in sectors such as halal products, modest wear, agro-processing, and clean technology. SME Corp. Malaysia CEO Mr. Rizal bin Dato’ Nainy highlighted the vast potential for Malaysian SMEs in the Pakistan market, underscoring this partnership as a milestone in driving innovation, competitiveness, and shared prosperity.
