GEORGE TOWN, November 14 – PAS Penang has expressed support for resolving the Kedah-Penang lease dispute through proper legal channels, welcoming the Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Chow Kon Yeow’s agreement to settle the matter in court.
In a statement issued on 13 November 2025, PAS emphasized that the issue is not political but concerns the legal and historical relationship between the states of Kedah, Penang, and the Federal Government of Malaysia, urging all parties to respect the legal process and avoid speculation.
The party highlighted the importance of uncovering historical truths that have been distorted over time, noting that understanding accurate history is vital to safeguarding the rights and positions of Malaysia’s states within the Federation.
PAS also called on DAP, known for advocating the rule of law, to uphold its principles by allowing the legal process to proceed without turning the matter into a political narrative that could cause confusion or tension among the public.
PAS Penang’s statement reinforces the party’s commitment to justice and historical accuracy while advocating for a measured and lawful approach to inter-state disputes, emphasizing that adherence to legal procedures ensures fairness and preserves the integrity of Malaysia’s federal structure.
