KUALA LUMPUR, November 15 – Malaysian rapper and filmmaker Wee Meng Chee, or Namewee, said he had done everything he could to save Taiwanese influencer Hsieh Yu-hsin, whose death he witnessed firsthand in a Kuala Lumpur hotel room.

In his first public statement since being released on police bail, he described the experience as deeply traumatic, saying the scene of her passing will remain with him forever. He also urged the public to refrain from attacking or shaming the deceased over her profession, stressing that no one should be judged based on stereotypes or biases.

Namewee revealed that he endured nine days of detention and intensive questioning by multiple police units as investigations into Hsieh’s death continue. Hsieh, known online as “Nurse Goddess,” was found dead in a bathtub at a hotel on Jalan Conlay on October 22, with the case reclassified as murder on November 4.

Namewee, now out on bail, is required to report back to authorities on November 26.
