KUALA LUMPUR, November 19 – Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo assured Parliament that the government’s upcoming MyGov super app will not store citizens’ personal data, as all integrations are conducted via secure APIs that keep information within each government agency’s system.
Using MyDigital ID for verification, the app serves as a service delivery platform without copying or retaining sensitive data, providing Malaysians with secure access to over 36 services from 13 agencies, including MyJPJ, Immigration, MySejahtera, and social welfare services.
Gobind added that the app, which has already seen over 113,000 downloads since its beta launch in August, will gradually expand to include 16 more services such as driving licence renewals, road tax payments, utility and zakat payments, and police summons settlements.
Developed in phases to ensure stability and security, the ministry also engages users through Citizen Lab sessions to enhance usability, design, and functionality, reflecting the government’s commitment to a safe and efficient digital public service platform.
