KUALA LUMPUR, November 25 – The ringgit opened slightly stronger at 4.1365/1470 against the US dollar on November 25, 2025, buoyed by a weakening greenback following dovish signals from US Federal Reserve officials, placing the Malaysian currency firmly on track toward its upgraded year-end target of RM4.10.
Bank Muamalat chief economist Dr Mohd Afzanizam Abdul Rashid noted that the narrowing interest rate differential between the US and Malaysia, along with improving domestic fiscal consolidation—where the nine-month deficit eased to 3.3 per cent of GDP from 4.1 per cent last year.
Continues to support the ringgit’s upward momentum as it trades mostly higher against major currencies while showing mixed performance against its Asean counterparts.
