KUALA LUMPUR, November 25 — Transport Minister Anthony Loke has instructed the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) to launch an investigation into Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) following continued disruptions to the Aerotrain service at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

Loke said the government will no longer tolerate service breakdowns, stressing that MAHB’s operator license requires it to maintain a satisfactory level of service. He warned that any breach under the Land Public Transport Act 2010 could result in fines of up to RM250,000 per offense.

The directive follows yet another Aerotrain malfunction earlier today, which forced passengers to walk along the tracks in darkness despite the RM456 million invested in system upgrades.
