KOTA KINABALU, November 29 – DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has taken full responsibility for the party’s failure to retain any of the eight seats it contested in the 17th Sabah state election, calling the outcome a clear message from voters.
In a statement, he said the party leadership will conduct a thorough review of its weaknesses and work to rebuild confidence ahead of future elections. Loke emphasised that DAP respects the voters’ decision and congratulated the winning candidates and parties.
DAP Sabah acknowledged its total wipeout in the state polls but noted it still holds two parliamentary seats—Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan—whose MPs will intensify their constituency efforts. Loke pledged that the party will learn from the setback and strive to win back public support.
Underscoring that he accepts full responsibility for the shortcomings that led to the defeat.
