KUALA LUMPUR, November 29 — The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), in collaboration with Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY), has launched a five-day Supplier Development and Partnership Programme aimed at enhancing Malaysia’s localisation capabilities, empowering local vendors, and advancing the nation’s new energy ecosystem.

The initiative connected 12 Malaysian vendors with 36 of Hyundai’s global Tier-1 suppliers to explore joint ventures, technology transfer, and manufacturing collaboration, resulting in four MoUs between Malaysian and Korean companies.

MIDA CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid said the partnership aligns with the National Automotive Policy and New Industrial Master Plan 2030, positioning Malaysia as a rising regional hub for advanced mobility.

While Hyundai Motor Malaysia Managing Director Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen reaffirmed Hyundai’s long-term commitment to driving sustainable industry growth and innovation in Malaysia.
