KUALA LUMPUR, December 3 — The Prime Minister’s Office today announced the appointment of Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz as the Chairman of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), effective 3 December 2025 for a two-year term.

His leadership is expected to further strengthen Malaysia’s investment ecosystem and support ongoing national economic strategies. In addition to helming MIDA, Tengku Zafrul will also take on several additional responsibilities that are currently being finalised and will be announced later by the Prime Minister.

The Government emphasised that these new roles will complement his appointment and contribute to Malaysia’s broader economic and development agenda.
