GEORGE TOWN, December 4 — The Penang Island City Council (MBPP) has lodged police and MCMC reports after a viral TikTok video accused the council of improper conduct involving a shophouse development in Kampung Relau, calling the allegations baseless and misleading.
The council clarified that the project followed all statutory procedures since 2016 with no objections from adjacent landowners, received approvals from relevant technical agencies between 2015 and 2022, and reaffirmed its readiness to cooperate with authorities while urging the public to verify information before making claims online.
