KUALA LUMPUR, December 4 – Sony Electronics has officially introduced the Alpha 7 V, the fifth-generation model in its acclaimed full-frame mirrorless lineup, featuring a newly developed partially stacked Exmor RS™ CMOS sensor with approximately 33MP and the advanced BIONZ XR2™ processing engine with integrated AI capabilities.
The Alpha 7 V delivers significant improvements across autofocus, real-time tracking, color accuracy, still imaging, and video performance. Sony also announced the FE 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 OSS II, a compact standard zoom lens optimized for high-speed continuous shooting and seamless compatibility with the new camera.
Packed with next-generation enhancements, the Alpha 7 V offers up to 30% faster Real-time Recognition AF, blackout-free 30 fps shooting with 14-bit RAW, expanded 4K video modes including 7K oversampled 4K 60p, advanced stabilization, and improved AI-powered Auto White Balance.
Designed with creators in mind, the new model includes Wi-Fi 6E support, dual USB-C ports, a 4-axis multi-angle monitor, enhanced battery efficiency, and extended recording capabilities. The FE 28-70mm OSS II lens enhances responsiveness with up to 120 fps AF/AE tracking and coordinated body-lens stabilization.
Both products align with Sony’s “Road to Zero” environmental goals and will be available starting mid-December 2025 for the Alpha 7 V body, with kits and the new lens arriving in February 2026.
