KUALA LUMPUR, December 7 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim voiced concern that the government’s policies and achievements are not reaching the public as intended, saying that constructive information is often drowned out by sensational, negative content on social media.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Rancakkan MADANI Bersama Malaysiaku Programme and the National Convention on Public Service Reform 2025 in Putrajaya, Anwar stressed that despite more than 160 government initiatives introduced, public perception remains skewed because “only trash, curses, and insults” tend to dominate online platforms.

Anwar urged civil servants to play a more proactive role in explaining government efforts and ensuring accurate information reaches the rakyat, emphasising that the MADANI administration welcomes criticism grounded in facts to strengthen policy implementation.

Acknowledging that some Malaysians grow impatient waiting for project outcomes, he said consistent clarification is essential to maintain trust, adding that misinformation and imbalanced narratives risk creating the inaccurate impression that the government has done little to drive reform.
