GEORGE TOWN, December 9 – More than 100 media practitioners were honoured in a vibrant evening of appreciation during the “Media Appreciation Night with CM Chow” at the Anovia Banquet Art Centre, Gurney Paragon Mall.
Embracing the dazzling Glitz and Glam theme, guests arrived in red-carpet elegance, setting the tone for a night filled with celebration, camaraderie, and heartfelt recognition. Attendees enjoyed a sumptuous dinner, lively performances, karaoke sessions, and exciting stage games.
With lucky draw winners walking away with prizes ranging from hotel stay vouchers to electrical appliances. Buletin Mutiara journalist Sunarti Yusoff and the Chief Minister’s special officer Gurmandev Singh stole the spotlight as the Best Dressed Female and Male winners.
In his address, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow expressed deep appreciation for the media’s hard work and commitment in keeping the public informed throughout the year. He emphasised the crucial role journalists play as the bridge between the government and the people, applauding their power to inform, educate, and inspire.
The event, attended by key state leaders including Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh Deo and several state executive councillors, served as a touching tribute to Penang’s dedicated media fraternity and their vital contribution to the state’s progress and public discourse.
