KUALA LUMPUR, December 15 — The Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on bullying, unveiling long-term reforms that include the deployment of 10,096 new teachers—over 500 of whom are guidance and counselling specialists—and the expansion of CCTV coverage to more than 500 schools and hostels nationwide.
Deputy Minister Wong Kah Woh emphasized that these measures, part of a comprehensive safety plan guided by multiple SPIs and nationwide audits, aim to create stable physical, social, and emotional environments in schools, complemented by strengthened mental health support and the appointment of 600 hostel assistant wardens from 2026 to ensure effective surveillance and bullying prevention.
