KUALA LUMPUR, December 25 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged Malaysians to reject hatred and cultivate empathy as the nation marks Christmas, stressing that Malaysia’s true strength lies in its unity amid diversity.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Anwar highlighted the importance of harmony among the country’s multi-religious and multi-racial communities, noting that unity must be consciously built through fairness, equal opportunities and mutual understanding.

He said the Madani Government believes harmony does not happen by chance, especially at a time of global economic uncertainty, humanitarian crises and social divisions, adding that Malaysia has chosen unity, dialogue and respect as the foundation of its future.

Anwar also extended Christmas greetings to Christians nationwide, expressing hope that the festive season would bring peace, harmony and prosperity to all Malaysians.
