GEORGE TOWN, December 25 — Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has extended Christmas greetings to Christians in the state, calling on all Penangites to embrace the universal values of love, sacrifice and hope that the festive season represents.
In his Christmas 2025 address delivered at KOMTAR, Chow said the celebration, eagerly anticipated by Malaysians of all backgrounds, serves as a meaningful time to strengthen family bonds, friendships and social harmony while nurturing kindness and goodwill in daily life.
Reaffirming the Penang state government’s commitment to inclusivity, Chow said continuous support is extended to all communities, including the Christian community, to practise their faith freely and with adequate facilities.
He highlighted the role of Penang Harmony Corporation (HARMONICO) in promoting interfaith harmony and praised the recent state-level Christmas celebrations, including the return of a special procession after 25 years, which showcased unity and volunteerism despite heavy rain.
Chow expressed hope that the spirit of togetherness inspired by Christmas would continue to guide Penang towards a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive future.
