KOTA KINABALU, December 25 — The Sabah State Legislative Assembly today passed the Supply Bill 2026 by a majority voice vote, approving a RM6.402 billion Budget themed “Memacu Pembangunan, Kesejahteraan Rakyat Diutamakan”.
With projected revenue of RM6.43 billion and an estimated surplus of RM28 million, following its tabling by State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun and days of debate and winding-up. Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri Kadzim M. Yahya announced the Bill’s approval after its third reading.
While Masidi said the state is strengthening fiscal governance through measures including a comprehensive review of state sales tax policy, enhanced engagement with taxpayers, and the restructuring of the State Sales Tax Unit into a full division.
With plans to upgrade it into a department to enable more strategic policy planning.
