KUALA LUMPUR, December 26 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the Madani Government remains fully committed to advancing Sarawak’s development through inclusive economic growth, strategic investments and job creation, while ensuring that the benefits reach the people directly.

He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to implementing the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and to the fair management of oil and gas resources, describing these efforts as central to building a more sustainable and prosperous Sarawak for current and future generations.

In a Facebook post today, Anwar said “real transformation” was already taking place, citing major strides in green energy, logistics, data centres, artificial intelligence and the oil and gas sector, alongside people-centric initiatives such as affordable housing and cost-of-living assistance.

He highlighted Sarawak’s emergence as a green investment gateway in the Asia-Pacific region, strengthened by projects like the Batang Ai Floating Solar initiative, hydrogen developments and enhanced collaboration between Petros and Petronas.

Adding that these high-impact investments were creating new skills and employment opportunities under the vision of “Sarawak Makmur, Malaysia Sejahtera.”
