JOHOR BAHRU, January 3 — A RM900-million investment by China-based Jiangsu Longda Superalloy Co Ltd, through its subsidiary Singda Superalloy (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, is set to strengthen Johor’s high-technology industry and create more than 200 high-skilled jobs in engineering and advanced technology.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the Shanghai-based firm plays a key role in the global supply chain for aerospace, energy and heavy engineering, marking a significant boost to the state’s industrial capabilities.
He added that the investment is supported by a strategic collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), offering training, talent development and at least 50 graduate job opportunities with exposure in Malaysia and China.
Onn Hafiz said discussions are also underway to form an industrial supply chain cluster involving strategic partners, which is expected to generate wider economic spillover effects for local companies and SMEs, while reinforcing Johor’s position as a competitive high-tech hub in line with the Johor Maju 2030 vision.
