KUALA LUMPUR, January 5 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to make several key announcements after chairing a special Cabinet meeting, ahead of delivering his 2026 New Year Message during the Prime Minister’s Department monthly assembly on Monday.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the address, scheduled for 11.30am, will touch on major national priorities including the economy, education and institutional reform, underscoring the Madani Government’s commitment to tackling pressing issues.
Loke added that the special Cabinet meeting will deliberate urgent matters affecting the public and business community, particularly amid challenging economic conditions, with positive announcements expected on issues such as tax refunds.
He said the New Year message will also outline the government’s direction for the year ahead, stressing that effective implementation and concrete action will be key to delivering meaningful outcomes for Malaysians.
