KUALA LUMPUR, January 7 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim broke protocol to lavish praise on Oscar-winning actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh during the launch of the ‘I LITE U’ smart-lighting initiative at Pavilion KL.
Calling her achievements a source of national pride and highlighting the importance of unity for Malaysia’s growth. Speaking at the event, which marks the curtain-raiser for the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, Anwar described Yeoh as a versatile and disciplined artist.
While Yeoh urged Malaysians to seize opportunities and showcase the country’s diversity, warmth, and heritage, as the one-kilometre Bukit Bintang installation of over 70 energy-efficient LED lights illuminated the city and drew crowds for cultural performances and Instagram-worthy moments.
