BANGI, January 12 — The Madani Government will place strong emphasis on easing the cost of living for Malaysians and improving the ease of doing business throughout 2026, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said following the 2026 Madani Government Retreat.
Fahmi, who is also the government’s spokesman, said these priorities were central to discussions attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Cabinet members and state leaders, aimed at ensuring economic stability translates into tangible benefits for the people amid positive indicators such as a stronger ringgit, rising investments and the lowest unemployment rate in 14 years.
He added that effective communication is key to ensuring policies and economic gains are felt by the rakyat, while stressing that unity between the Federal Government and the states remains strong, as reflected by the participation of state leaders at the retreat.
Fahmi said the Prime Minister has directed that outcomes from the retreat be translated into concrete programmes this year, reinforcing the Madani Government’s commitment to delivering people-centric policies and sustained national progress.
